Community Helper Volunteer · compensation negotiable

A volunteer role with compensation, made up of sub-roles. Pick the ones you’d like to contribute to — some are purely voluntary, others are compensated per accepted deliverable. You can apply for more than one.

Just want to help out? That’s welcome too. There is no required commitment and no minimum — pitch in whenever you have the time, at whatever pace suits you.

Sub-roles you can pick from
  • Chat Moderation Volunteer Keep the Artspace chat welcoming: enforce the rules, defuse arguments, answer newcomers.
  • Canvas Moderation Volunteer Moderate live canvases during sessions and events, and help run the occasional free draw.
  • Community Management Assistant Volunteer Support the admin team: help organise events, welcome new members, and gather feedback.
  • Template Creation Build canvas templates and session layouts the community draws on.
  • Graphics Art Promo material: event banners, announcement graphics, campaign sets.
  • Emoji Art Server emoji and reaction art for the Artspot Discord and Artspace.
How compensation works
  • The volunteer sub-roles are unpaid. Chat moderation, canvas moderation and community management are contributions to the community.
  • Deliverable sub-roles are compensated per accepted piece, starting at 250 mags. The amount varies with the size and complexity of the work, and is negotiable.
  • You’re only compensated for sub-roles you’ve been approved for. We agree your tracks at the interview, and can unlock more later.

Amounts are agreed with you before you take a piece on, and deliverables are reviewed and accepted by the admin team before they count.

About You

Please note: your Discord username, Magma username, email, and timezone will be used to schedule and conduct a post-application interview. Make sure they're accurate and reachable.

Community Admin Questions
Jam Host Questions
How would you like to host with us? *
Can you commit to hosting every week or every two weeks? *
Which compensation would you prefer? *

Both are worth roughly the same. You can change this later.

Community Helper Questions
Which sub-role(s) are you applying for? *

Pick everything you’d like to contribute to — you can be approved for more than one. The volunteer sub-roles are unpaid; the deliverable sub-roles are compensated per accepted piece, starting at 250 mags and negotiable from there.

Are you here purely to volunteer, or would you prefer compensation? *

Either answer is completely fine and neither affects your chances. Compensation only ever applies to accepted deliverables in the sub-roles you’re approved for — the volunteer sub-roles are unpaid either way.

How much would you like to commit to? *

There is no minimum. Helping out occasionally, whenever you have time, is completely fine and we’d still love to have you.

Please note: Community Helper is a volunteer role with compensation. The volunteer sub-roles — chat moderation, canvas moderation and community management — are unpaid. Compensation applies only to accepted deliverables in the sub-roles the admin team has approved you for; the amount depends on the size of the deliverable and is negotiable. There is no required commitment: you’re welcome to help whenever you can.
